Review and Swatch: Loreal HIP Duos

These are my four Loreal HIP Bright Shadow Duo. I’ve never own any LOREAL eye shadows before so I didn’t really know what to expect. I have it in Riotous, Flare, Showy, and Reckless.

First off, let me say that I HATE the packaging. It is big and bulky for no reason! The top opening has the eye shadows and the bottom opening just has a sponge applicator. It is so unnecessary and I plan on depotting them when I get a magnetic palette. Also, when I try to open the top to use the eye shadows, the bottom one opens instead. I’m just not feeling the packaging at all.

I was expecting more out of the pigmentations of these eye shadows. After all, it is called BRIGHT SHADOWS. The lighter shades were fine but when it got to the darker shades some of them weren’t pigmented at all. For example, the darker shade in Reckless and Showy. I had to work with them to build up the color. NOTE that I didn’t use primer on these swatches.

Overall, I would give this product a 3/5. I wouldn't plan on purchasing more of these HIP duos, even though I haven't tried the other ones yet.
