Review and Swatches: OCC Lip Tar in Lydia

OCC Lip Tar in Lydia.

Another review on this amazing product, Lip Tars, made by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC).

Keep on reading to see what I think about Lydia!

OCC Lip Tar in Lydia (Back of the Tube).

"A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that never looks or feels heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you! A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!"

OCC Lip Tar Packaging.

The new packaging of Lip Tars are in a squeezable MATTE tube with a long, skinny narrowed nozzle. The old one use to be a slant tip applicator but I guess that it was too messy for some people since they applied it right off of the tube (which is a huge NO NO).

Application is pretty easy with this product but it can be tricky to some other people. You will need a lip brush and the tiniest amount of product (since a little bit goes A VERY LONG way). Don't apply too much product because then it will feather out of your natural lipline and look... well gross. Oh yeah, and don't forget to use a lip balm because these babies aren't that moisturizing.

Lydia - Darkroom Plum

I would describe it as a neutral pinkish purple.

Original Retail - $18.00

Size - 0.33 fl oz

I would definitely recommend this product to everyone since it's a neat way to have a variety of OCC Lip Tars to create different shades for your lips, cheeks, and eyes. It is inconvenient for touch ups since you need a brush to apply this product so I'm planning to make some lipsticks with the OCC Lip Tars and a lip base (diy project coming up soon!). These lasts for a while and sometimes it can leave a slight stain. Two thumbs up for this product though!

Have you ever tried any OCC Lip Tars?

I already reviewed Harlot and Queen and I have plenty more of them (about 5-7 more OCC Lip Tars) to review so keep an eye out!

  1. Ohh it's gorg. It doesn't look quite as deep as it does on the tube on your lips, but a beautiful neutral (:

  10. OMG your lips are SO smooth! I need to exfoliate or something, I think. I bought a bunch of Lip Tar samples from a girl on eBay (http://bit.ly/14Wff0R) and some of them make my lips look flaky. Did you put a balm over your lips after you put on the Lip Tar?
