"Sirens of the deep inspire an aquascape of shades, as waves of tarnished olive, seafoam and darkened plum surrender to water’s enticing spirit. Sultry eyes take on a subtle radiance, while luminous Extra Dimension Blush washes over cheeks, creating a goddess glow. Under the sea, nails glisten in aquatic chrome and metallic Nail Lacquer, as Lipstick, Lipglass and Lip Pencil dive deep into colour. Limited-edition teal packaging, dramatically accented with sheer water droplets."
"Bronzing Powders and Extra Dimension Bronzer in gentle, pearlized shades set skin aglow for summer. Limited-edition compacts in aquatic teal are dramatically accented with crystal clear droplets. Anticipate waves of adoration when carrying the coordinated chic, teal clutch, with a texturized water droplet finish and translucent sides in aqua."
Everyone is going crazy over the packaging - just look at it and admire how gorgeous it is!! All of the products are in a stunning teal compact with actual water droplets. It's really unique and totally matches the collection's theme that they got going on.
The Extra Dimension Blushes and Bronzers - The pigmentation just wasn't there (..it was just alright - not good or bad). I found them all to be buildable though which is kinda nice if you don't want to go overboard with blushes and bronzers.
The lipglass applied sheer but the shimmers in the gloss were spread around equally on the lips. It is a tad bit sticky but nothing too noticeable.
The lipsticks were very creamy and easy to apply. They were pigmented and glided on easily with an even layer on the lips.

*This was part of my birthday gift from my wonderful boyfriend! :)
I've honestly tried better products at this price point. The extra dimension formulas were HIGHLY raved about yet I didn't "love" them for the formula along with the price. I felt like the blushes were at a better performance then the bronzers. The extra dimension bronzer in Aphrodite's Shell was very sheer and I had to use a 'scratchier' brush to apply it on my skin. It does show up but it would work on people with lighter skintone. Delphic was a bit orange for me but it was workable. The picture below shows how each product looks like on me (btw - I'm wearing the lipstick in Siren Song).
Update - 5/26/14 - These photos are NOT blurred. The only 'editing' that I did were putting the 2 pictures into a collage and adding the text (describing what I used on each picture).
The lipglass is really pretty with all of the shimmers and it can be very versatile. The lipgloss was just a tad sticky but nothing too noticeable. The lipsticks in this collection were the top performers - the color selection was awesome as well as the formula.
My favorite products from the collection would have to be the lipstick in Mystical and Goddess of the Sea. The bronzer that I have been using more lately is Aphrodite's Shell (..it's kind of growing on to me) and the blush that I like the most in this collection is Sea Me, Hear Me.
What do you guys think about MAC's Alluring Aquatic Collection?

Side Note - I did return the LIP GLASS but I'll be keeping everything else!
what an awesome MAC haul you got here. I only got the Aphrodites' Shell and totally agree with you with the pigmentation. I am a NC30-35 and it barely shows up on my skin. All the lipstick shades look gorgeous on you. I want Enchanted One so bad. All sold out online and hoping they will restock soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you - all of this was part of my birthday gift from my boyfriend. Aphrodite's Shell is becoming my most used bronzer out of the two from this collection but I can easily see myself hitting pan on it quickly since I really need to build it up. You should try getting Enchanted One in the store since online sometimes restock and sometimes doesn't at all.
DeleteI want these so badly just because of the packaging!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that so many times and it's so true... MAC did an awesome job with the packaging!
