"A range of makeup and cosmetic products celebrating youth, style, and the uninhibited lifestyle of a new generation. Celebrating life with bold shades, unique formulae and infused with limited edition collectable packaging, Makeup from One Direction is fun, bold, often irreverent, with a touch of cheeky mischievousness. Offered at prices that every girl and woman can afford."
I'm not too far impressed with the packaging - it's very basic and cheap.
In my honest opinion, they just "upgraded" the packaging by adding the brick design.
It
comes in a reusable keepsake tin box with a gray and black brick design. There
is also a clear plastic sleeve showing the five boys from One Direction on the
front and information about the products (like what is in the kit, ingredients,
and more) on the back. When you open up the tin you will see some ideas on
how to use the products on the left side of the tin (keep in mind that these
are some really simple looks that anyone can do). On the right side of the
opened tin box you will see all of the products included in the kit.
The eyeliner came in a plastic jumbo pencil with a black brick
designed barrel, blue end cap, and a clear cap.
The eye shadow palette has a similar look to Wet n Wild’s
packaging with the clear lid, black plastic base, and a mini brush duo. The
only difference is that there is a brick design around the clear section of the
lid. The palette is thin and it feels cheap since it’s so basic but it does the
job.
The lip gloss came in a rectangular shape bottle with a built-in
wand on the cap.
The lipstick came in a black rectangular tube with a clear
bottom base showing the color of the lipstick. The packaging is cheap and the
lipstick bullet would not stay in place (even when I tried fixing it) so the
lipstick kept smashing towards the side leaving a mess.
The mascara came in a slim black tube with my favorite type of wand.
The nail polish comes in a rectangular bottle with a black
plastic cap. The only bad thing was the brush which had a few stray hairs which can easily be fixed by snipping it off with scissors).
The stencils were made from flimsy paper which can be ripped easily.
Like I said, the packaging was very basic and cheap. It was nothing impressive - the only difference was the brick design and the reusable tin box.
Now on to the good stuff!
Most of the stuff were actually pretty good but there was a complete fail in the kit:
The eyeliner shade is absolutely gorgeous and makes such a
bold statement. The product does not smudge one bit and it lasts all day long.
The eye shadows are very wearable even though the palette
consists of mainly blue shades. The shadows had great pigmentation and were so
soft and smooth - surprisingly they were also very easy to work with.
The lip gloss is really pretty since it has different shades
of glitter. Even though it contained glitter the gloss was not chunky and it
applied evenly. It was not sticky so that’s always a plus!
The lipstick was the worst performance in this whole kit. It
has a matte finish (…which I typically prefer) but it was so drying to my lips.
I do love the lipstick shade a lot but the formula was just absolutely
horrible.
The nail polish had a very thin formula which took 3 thin coats for
a full opaque finish.
The formula was not too wet or dry – I can say that the
formula didn’t volumize my lashes but on the other hand it takes a lot of work for my lashes to
be lifted.
My favorite product from the kit would definitely have to be
the Eye and Body Crayon in Stand Up!

The whole design is rather simple and to be honest kind of
cheap for the price that they are selling the kit at. All in all this is a
great set for people who are REALLY into One Direction but if you aren’t then
save your money and get something else at the drugstore with great coupons and
deals. So will I buy another kit? NO. Why? Because I’m really not into One
Direction plus I can buy better products at the drugstore for less. I don’t see
this brand as “high end”… heck not even “mid end” even though it is being sold at Dillards,
Macys, and other fancy places.
Here's a look that I created with this kit:
- Brow Highlighter – One Direction Eye Shadow in More Than This
- Crease – One Direction Eye Shadow in Gotta Be You
- Lid – One Direction Eye Shadow in Save You Tonight
- Eyeliner - One Direction Eye and Body Crayon in Stand Up
- Inner Bottom Lash Line – One Direction Eye Shadow in Save You Tonight
- Outer Bottom Lash Line – One Direction Eye Shadow in Another World
- Waterline – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
- Mascara – One Direction Volumizing Mascara in Little Black Dress

Nice review! That lipstick does look really drying - too bad cause it's such a pretty color!

I know, right? Too bad that it made my lips look like it was thirsty for some lip balm!
DeleteThis is a great review! One of the best I've seen! I love the look you ended up creating with the kit. I forced myself to use the stencils with the eyeshadow palette and it actually turned out!
