Review and Swatches: Urban Decay Ink for Eyes Waterproof Precision Eye Pen + $3 DUPE Comparison

Eyeliners are one of my favorite makeup essentials.

With just a few quick swipes and flick anyone can get that perfect winged liner which is my go to eye look.

Keep on reading to see my review on Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes Waterproof Precision Eye Pen along with a $3 dupe!

“Create envy-inducing cat eyes with ease. Ultra-waterproof and crazy-precise, our fine-tipped pen creates glossy, sharply defined lines that last all day. Draw intense, shiny, blacker-than-black lines with absolute precision. Ink for Eyes has an ultra-fine tip for a smooth, controlled application every time.

Whether you want razor-thin lines, winged cat eyes or bold, dramatic lines, Ink for Eyes does it all. Our long-wearing formula glides on smoothly (without skipping or pulling) and dries down to an ultra-waterproof finish that won’t smudge, run or feather. And the color payoff is insane! The best part? Ink for Eyes is really forgiving and so EASY to use (just like a marker)—perfect for everyone from beginners all the way to experts.

Use Ink for Eyes to create a bold, super-precise cat-eye or anytime you want a really dramatic look. The precise tip lays down ultra-precise, intensely black lines that LAST
With Ink for Eyes, the color flows smoothly every time—no need to shake the barrel first. And wait until you try the fine felt tip. It gives you insane amounts of control! Even liner newbies can draw perfect lines with Ink for Eyes. In no time, they’re laying down color in between lashes like total pros.

This waterproof, paraben-free formula comes in a gorgeous, highly metalized gunmetal component that’s easy to spot in your bag.”

It comes in a sleek gunmetal barrel with a firm ultra-fine felt tip.

The ultra-fine felt tip was firm which made it easier control. I liked how it was very easy to create super razor thin lines but it was also very easy to build it up into a thicker line.

Availability –

Price – $20

Size – 0.59 ml / 0.02 fl oz

This eyeliner is pitched black with a waterproof formula. There is no need to tug the eyelids since there’s no pulling or skipping. It’s so easy to create a precised winged eyeliner. And this best thing yet? I’ve had this ever since it was released and it hasn’t dried out yet! I really enjoy using it since you can create really fine lines with the thin tip but $20 is a bit too much so I’ve listed a dupe below.

In this picture I’m wearing TWO DIFFERENT EYELINERS – one is Urban Decay’s Ink for Eyes Waterproof Precision Eye Pen and the other one is the $3 DUPE. Can you guess which one is which?

Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes Waterproof Precision Eye Pen is on the left eye and the dupe is on the right eye for both pics.

What's on my face?
  • Laura Geller's Balance-n-Bronze in Medium
  • Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy
  • Left Eye - Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes
  • Right Eye - Essence's Eyeliner Pen Waterproof in Deep Black 01

The dupe is Essence’s Eyeliner Pen Waterproof in Deep Black 01 – you can buy it at ULTA for only $3:

You can still create even fine lines even though the Essence's tip is a tad bit bigger than Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes.

So my question for the day is:

What’s your current favorite eyeliner?

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post! I’ll try to find more dupes for future posts.

Please leave a comment below and as always, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog.

  1. Have you tried the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner? That's my current HG right now, but i'd rather get a $3 liner if it's just as good.
