Review and Swatch: theBalm Balm Jovi Face Palette

I couldn't believe that I won this from theBalm's daily giveaway!!
Come check this palette out!

"Get ready to take center-stage! Featuring shadows, a highlighter, blush and creamy lip and cheek colors that are sure to top the charts, Balm Jovi is your backstage pass to looking like a rockstar. All of the shadows can be used wet or dry, so live and let dry. The headlining highlighter and scene-stealing blush will set the stage, while Milly and Vanilly will lip-sync up your look. Balm Jovi is compact and portable, yet it has everything you need to take on tour!"

A very sturdy palette made out of cardboard with 2 magnetic closures (1 flap for the eye shadows, highlighter, & blush AND another flap for the lip/cheek products). I find this really neat since it doesn’t get too messy with the powder eye shadows and creamy lip/cheek products.  It definitely catches my every time I look at it since it’s so bright and fun; totally cute! There’s so much detail put into this palette with a heart shaped mirror inside the top flap, flames, hearts, fancy fonts and banners everywhere; who wouldn’t want to pick this beautiful palette up?!

Eye Shadows: All of them were very easy to work with but I found Presto a tad bit dry. Other than that, I found them to have great pigmentation and the eye shadows are so soft and buttery with little to no fall out! It was very easy to work with, even with the matte shades.

Luminizer & Blush: Great pigmentation & so easy to work with.

Lip/Cheek Products: Easy to spread around but just make sure to exfoliate your lips before using this product. You can use your brush or finger to apply but I prefer a brush.

Metal-ica – Whiteish Silver
Iron Maid-in – Light Gold
Lead Zeppelin – Olive Green w/ Golden Shimmer
Alice Copper – Burgundy purple-red

Adagio – Matte Beige
Allegro – Matte Tan Brown
Moderato – Matte Purple
Presto – Matte Dark Brown

Blink 1982 – Light Mauve Purple w/ Golden Shimmer
The Stroke – Matte Dark Blue
rem – Light Purple w/ a Gold Sheen (Duotone)
Third Eye Blinded – Light Golden Peach

Disco Disco [Solid Gold] – Light Warm Gold
Pop! Pop! [Don’t You Want Me?] – Matte Peachy Pink

Let's do a comparison to see if Solid Gold is the actual Mary Lou Manizer!!!

Ding ding ding! It definitely is Mary Lou Manizer!

Milly – Pale Pink
Vanilly – Bright Red

Original Retail: $39.50
How Much I Paid: $0; I won it from theBalm :D
Size:  12 eye shadows (0.38 oz), 1 Highlighter (0.14 oz), 1 Blush (0.10 oz), & 2 lip/cheek products (0.14 oz)

Lid - rem
Center of Lid and Inner Corner - Metal-ica
Outer Corner & Crease - Moderato

I love this palette so much and I’m glad that I picked this one. I originally picked the Mary Lou Manizer as my prize but changed it to the Balm Jovi Palette after looking at several reviews. theBalm shouldn’t have written another name for the highlighter (Disco Disco) and blush (Pop! Pop! Don’t You Want Me?) because it is the same one as the Mary Lou Manizer and FratBoy Blush. But, I’m so glad that these two items were in the palette because I absolutely love them with the 12 eye shadows. All of the items in the palette were pigmented and easy to work with. It’s such a beautiful palette for a very great price. This is my 2nd palette that I own from thebalm (my 1st one being the nude ‘tude palette, which can be found HERE) and I definitely think that I will pick up more products from them.

Have you seen this palette around? What do you think about it?

Thank you for reading!

  1. Lucky you were able to get your prize changed! & Congrats on winning! I'm still waiting for this palette to come in the mail, but I wish they had a different blush than FratBoy re-named and Mary-Lou Manizer because I have two of each full-sized already. The palette itself is just too cute though :)

  2. these look like really pretty colours, I usually prefer palettes in plastic rather than cardboard just because they're easier to keep clean etc but the packaging of this is still really nice x
