Review and Swatch: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette +COMPARISON

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

Urban Decay's newest palette containing ALL matte shades!
Come check out my review :]

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

"Our first MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals to build on or wear alone—including four never-before-seen shades.

Naked Basics is more than just the long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to Naked. It’s the palette EVERY woman needs in her beauty arsenal. With six stripped-down, Nakedly neutral shadows, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye—including four totally new and exclusive shades."

It comes in a very sleek, small, and compact palette with 6 FULL SIZE EYE SHADOWS. Very travel friendly and adorable (my baby niece even thought that this was going to be her palette but I said 'NO WAY JOSE!!!') The fonts on the palette are embossed with the palette having a rubberized suede touch to it. It's also very easy to wipe down any mess!

You have to manually open up the palette. It would've been so cute if they had the button like the Vice Palette.

Size Comparison

Almost the size of my iPhone 4!

Back of the Palette.

Sorry if it looks kind of dirty! Crave was shattered and it went everywhere.

Damages/Flaws in my palette.

Venus has a silver marking on it and Crave was shattered during transit.

The formula is amazing and it consists of their newer version that they call "Pigment Infusion System". All of the eye shadows were soft and buttery and I didn't have any trouble with pigmentation or blending.

6 FULL SIZE Eye Shadows

Top: Natural Lighting; Bottom: Flash

Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte)
Foxy (cream bisque matte)
Walk of Shame (very light nude matte)
Naked2 (taupe matte)
Faint (warm, dusty brown matte)
Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte).

Venus, Midnight 15, Vanilla, Zephyr, Virgin, & Bootycall.

Venus: Semi-Matte (almost Frosty) Creamy White
  • Midnight 15 (15th Anniversary) – Too Brown
  • Vanilla (15th Anniversary) – Too Yellow
  • Zephyr (B.O.S 4) – Has that golden sheen
  • Virgin (Naked Palette) – Shimmery
  • Bootycall (Naked 2 Palette) – Frosty Finish

-Zephyr,Virgin, & Bootycall is pretty close in the shade but their finish isn’t semi-matte like Venus.

Foxy & Foxy.

Foxy: Yellow Beige with Matte Finish
  • Foxy (Naked 2)

-Both are the same!

W.O.S, W.O.S, Kinky, Freestyle, & Anonymous.

Walk of Shame:
  • Walk of Shame (Buildable Palette) – Less Pink
  • Kinky (Smoked Palette) – No Pink in it
  • Freestyle (Smoked Palette) – Peachy
  • Anonymous (Vice Palette) – No Pink
-The Walk of Shame in the Buildable Palette had less pink but it was very close. If Kinky and Anonymous had a small amount of pink pigmentation then it would’ve been a match.

Naked 2, Naked, & Tease.

Naked 2: Light brownish gray w/ matte finish
  • Naked (Naked Palette) – Beige Brown
  • Tease (Naked 2 Palette) – Muave-Brown

-No match up that I found from my palettes.

Faint, MIA, Buck, & Backdoor.

Faint: Soft Medium Brown
  • MIA (15th Anniversary) – Too Dark and Shimmer Finish
  • Buck (Naked Palette) – Too Light
  • Backdoor (Smoked Palette) – Too Dark

-No match up that I found from my palettes.

Crave, Creep, Blackout, & Black Market.

Crave: Dark Black
  • Creep (Naked Palette) – Gray
  • Blackout (Naked 2 Palette) – Not as dark as Crave
  • Black Market (Vice Palette) – Leaning towards Gray

-Crave and Blackout is a match!

Original Retail: $27
Size: 6 x 1.3g / 0.05 US oz

I really love this palette and I think that it is a great addition to my Naked and Naked 2 Palette as well as to my other Urban Decay palettes that I have. The pigmentation and formula was on point and I didn't experience any difficulty with this palette at all. I love how the palette looks and feel. It's small and travel friendly with an easy to clean rubberized suede touch to it. Some people are complaining that it isn't worth it but I really think that it is because you're only paying $27 for 6 FULL SIZE EYE SHADOWS (which will originally cost $108).

Have you ordered this palette yet or will you pass?

If you liked the comparison part you can check out my other one on the VICE PALETTE.
I also have a post on the NAKED 2 (to see if yours is fake or not).

Thanks for reading!
