Empties: January 2014

Hey there folks!

I apologize for the lack of blog posts for these past few months but I promise to you guys that I will post more often from here on out.

I've accumulated so much stuff after creating this blog about a year and a half ago so I've finally decided to do an empties series!

Each product will fit into one of these following categories:
-Expired products
-Products that I've used up
-Products that doesn't work for me therefore I'll be tossing it away

I will also mention where I got it, whether I love or hate the product, and if I would ever buy the product again.

So here is my debut for my empties...

Please keep on reading to find out whether I enjoyed these products or not and why...

Product – Bliss Soapy Suds Body Wash + Bubbling Bath in Grapefruit + Aloe
Price – $18
Size – 16 oz

I got this for $10 during Sephora’s Black Friday sale which was a really great deal. I’m quite picky with scents but frankly I absolutely love this one a lot. It smells fantastic and makes a great body wash. I don’t agree with the whole ‘bubbling bath’ since you have to use a ton of product to get a decent amount of bubbles in the tub. This product comes with a pump – which is really nice for ease of us in the shower.  I would love to repurchase this body wash but not at $18!

Product – Original Sprout’s Natural Shampoo and Deep Conditioner
Price – $8.75 for the Natural Shampoo and $9.25 for the Deep Conditioner
Size – 4 oz EACH

Original Sprout’s PR Team sent me these products for free to try out but sadly I do not like this shampoo and conditioner. My full head of hair didn’t feel “clean” but it works well for my two little nieces. It’s a bit pricey and I won’t repurchase this for myself.

Product – Psssst! Instant Dry Shampoo
Price – $3
Size – 1.76 oz (50g)

I received this in my Ipsy bag (...I don’t remember which month though) but I absolutely love this product since I already own it! It works great for my 2nd day hair but it definitely won’t work if your hair is really greasy. It’s a great and inexpensive product so I will definitely repurchase this dry shampoo.

Product – Phyto Phytonectar Pre-Shampoo Ultra Nourishing Oil Treatment
Price – ?
Size – ?

I received this hair oil from Glossybox a while back and I finally got the chance to use it. I applied this before I showered each time but sadly I didn’t notice anything different with my hair. The suggested time frame was 10 minutes but I obviously left it on for longer since it felt like a short amount of time. I won’t repurchase this hair oil since I would rather use Josie Maran’s Argan Oil or Tarte’s Maracuja Oil.

Product – Sephora’s Nail Polish Remover
Price – ?
Size – 50 mL

I bought this on Sephora and I remember this item being a cart filler so I can reach the free shipping amount (…way before they released Rouge). This works really well and I can’t recall the price but it was around $2-$4. It gets rid of glitter nail polish very quickly which is definitely a plus in my book. I won’t repurchase since my mom bought gallons of acetone for me. Thanks mum!

Product – Secret’s Deodorant
Price – ?
Size – ?

I quite don’t remember where I bought it and for how much. My niece also peeled the sticker off so I don’t know which one it is. Secret is one of my favorite deodorant brands so I will repurchase.

Product – Juara Rice Facial Scrub
Price – ?
Size – 1 oz

Juara’s PR Team sent me a couple of products and this was one of the items that I had the chance to use up. I also had finished up the sample size of their moisturizer but forgot to take a picture with this one! I really enjoyed this scrub since it wasn’t harsh on my face. The moisturizer was very nice and fixed my problematic areas where I had dry skin. I will definitely purchase the full size of each product.

Product – Cargo’s Better than Waterproof Mascara
Price – $20
Size – 0.33 fl. oz

Adam bought me this set called the Mediterranean Collection a while back and this have been my holy grail mascara. It’s a dry formula mascara (..not the wet ones that makes my eyelashes clump like crazy). The wand was the ideal shape and I absolutely love this mascara. I will definitely repurchase this mascara when I’m done with my other ones; the mascara is quite expensive which makes me very sad.

Product – Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 30 Beige
Price – ?
Size – Sample Packet

I got this sample from Sephora and I reaaally love this foundation that I bought the full size version ($45). I had 2 uses out of this sample and I really liked the shade match on me. It’s a wee bit light but I can always dust some bronzer to give a bit of overall warmth to my face. I would definitely give two thumbs up and I will review this Chanel foundation once I finish one of my open foundations.

Product – Glam Glow Youthmud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment
Price – ?
Size – Sample Packet

I got this sample from Sephora and boy did it TINGLE the heck out of my face. It actually felt like it was starting to burn so I just took it off with some water and my Clarisonic MIA. I have another sample so I will give it another go and give you guys an update on my February empties. Repurchase? I’m quite unsure but definitely no at the moment.

Product – L’Oreal Evercreme Deep Nourishing Masque
Price – ?
Size – Sample Packet

I’m currently using the shampoo and conditioner of this line but don’t own the masque so I thought that I would give this sample a go. I really like it and I felt like it did nourish my hair. I would buy this but I have so many hair products at the moment so I’ll wait until I finish up more stuff.

Okay guys! So that was my empties for January.. It’s not a lot of products but I’m trying my best to use up as much as I can. I have drawers and drawers of products so hopefully I can finish up more products. I really enjoyed doing this post and I feel really proud of myself for finishing up a couple of items. It’s time to tackle my makeup items so let’s hope that you’ll see some in February posts.

So I'm wondering,

WHAT PRODUCT(S) HAVE YOU USED UP LATELY?
