Review and Swatches: Divergent Cosmetics Divergent Multi-Piece Collector's Kit

Honestly, I died when I heard:

Sephora + Divergent + Makeup

I was SUPER DUPER excited and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it
...but guess what's finally here in my possession!!!

Keep on reading to see a full review and swatches..

A limited-edition multi-piece kit inspired by the traits of each Divergent faction from the worldwide bestseller, Divergent, now a major motion picture.

Divergent—what makes you different makes you dangerous. This enormous multi-piece kit allows you to be brave, selfless, intelligent, honest, and kind all at once. Each of the three Eye Shadow Palettes contains four coordinating High Pigment Eye Shadows plus one High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadow to draw immediate attention to the eyes. The High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadows impart a shimmery, diamond-like reflection that is transparent when applied dry, and translucent when applied wet. Mix and match the shades to achieve a unique look every time. The kit also includes a cheek palette with two Long-Wear Blushes, a Shimmering Bronzer, and a Radiant Glow Illuminator. Four High Shine Lip Glosses round out each faction’s look. Use the double-ended eye and cheek brush and the included Get-the-look cards to choose and proclaim your faction.

Okay so 1st off let’s start with the packaging! This kit is freaking HUGE and it doesn’t fit in  either one of my Ikea Alex Drawers but it’s also really gorgeous so you can easily put it out for  display on your vanity. Each item has a slot that they sit in but the glosses tend to fall off since it isn’t secured well enough.

Inside the kit includes 4 palettes, 4 lip glosses, and a double ended brush.

The ferris wheel on the front of the kit is beautiful. They did a wonderful job designing it by adding depth and dimensions.

I really love the detail that they put into this set. Here are the individual palettes; the ones that have the plastic metal ‘Divergent’ signs are the eyeshadow palettes which includes 4 regular eyeshadows and a transforming eyeshadow which can be switched among the other palettes.

If you would like to switch the transforming eyeshadows to a different palette then do the following steps below:

  1. Make sure that the palette is closed
  2. Hold both sides and slide it down
  3. Pull apart

It’s really simple since they glide easily so you can’t really mess up!

The packaging of the glosses reminds me a lot of the brand Hourglass which makes me really excited! I love how simple it is yet eye-catching.

On the back of the glosses there is a sticker which tells you the shade name and other important information.

The lip glosses have a doe-foot sponge applicators which makes it very easily to apply.

The double-ended brush includes a blending brush on the left and a cheek brush on the right. The brushes are soft and it works really well with the products. It hasn’t shed yet so we’ll see how it holds up with washing.

Mainly all of the blushes, bronzer, illuminator, and eyeshadows had very good pigmentation. All of the swatches shown below are swatched 1x each unless otherwise stated. It was really easy to blend since they were soft and buttery! Fall out is prone since there a few glitter shades but nonetheless the quality is really great.

The lip glosses are sheer but you can build them up fairly quickly. They aren’t sticky and surprisingly are really moisturizing to my lips. I really enjoy these and I can see myself using all 4 of these up!

I really LOVE this kit so much and I’m so glad that I ordered it right when it was released to VIB Rouges. I honestly have no complaints since this kit costed only $60! A few improvements could’ve been made here and there like adding more faction colors, better look cards (Abenegation look didn’t include Abnegation Stone, Erudite look didn’t include Erudite Sapphire, Dauntless look didn’t include Dauntless Ink, etc etc), and probably a proper matte overall blending shade BUT it’s not a huge set back to how great this kit is. It’s currently out of stock so sign up for the email to get a notification if it comes in stock.

This is a short brief review but I will be updating it more.

Check out my instagram for faction looks – I already uploaded a Dauntless look!

I hope that you enjoy!

Will you be picking anything up from the ‘Divergent Cosmetics’ line?
