MONARCH Eye Shadow Palette:

An alluring, warm-toned eyeshadow palette with a stunning composition of colors—three large base shades and nine transformative accent hues—for a spectrum of stunning eye looks.

What it does:

The palettes are made out of thick quality cardboard with a magnetic closure. There is a full length mirror on the inside and each palette contains 12 eyeshadows (3 x 0.095 oz + 9 x 0.049 oz). The packaging is absolutely gorgeous with the butterfly and skull designs – especially with the foiled design.

The eyeshadows are so soft and buttery which typically leads to a little bit of excess powder/fallout. I truly don’t mind since the formulas of the eyeshadows are to die for (plus, I always do my eyes first before laying down a base). The pigmentation is just beyond amazing and I didn’t have trouble with any of the eyeshadows. Please keep in mind that some of the eyeshadow swatches may look dry on my arm but I had zero trouble when I was working with the shadows on my lids.

These palettes are truly worth every penny. I got them when they were first released but I never had the chance to review them on my blog. I’m happy to say that these two palettes are my most used palettes ever since I got my hands on them. They are “formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates + antioxidants including rose extract and vitamins A, C, and E all work to keep your eyelids hydrated and protected” – which is pretty darn awesome in my opinion. All of the eyeshadows were gorgeous and I’m truly happy with the amazing quality in both palettes. I’m quite impressed with Kat Von D’s eyeshadows and I hope that the line continues to release more palettes!

So, you’re probably wondering which palette do I prefer out of the two – Chrysalis or Monarch?

Hmmm, well I would have to say Chrysalis all the way since I’m all neutral-ed OUT.
